    Correct an Incorrectly Entered Meter Read

    Reversing an incorrectly processed Meter Read in RMS.


    Steps Required

    1. Go to the Side Menu Reservation Search in RMS.
    2. Enter the Reservation Number or Guest Name.
    3. Search and Go to the Reservation.
    4. Select the 'Meter Read' button.
    5. Enter the previous meter reading in 'Previous' and 'Current'.
    6. Select 'Set Initial Read'.
    7. Select the Reservation Account.
    8. Select the incorrect Meter Charge.
    9. Right Click and choose 'Void Transaction'.
    10. Confirm and Exit.

    Following the steps above will remove the incorrectly entered meter reading and the associated charges posted to the account.

    This will allow for re-entering the correct meter read if required.

    Visual Guide

    Go to the Side Menu Reservation Search in RMS.

    Enter the Reservation Number or Guest Name.

    Search and Go to the Reservation.

    Select the 'Meter Read' button.

    Enter the previous meter reading in 'Previous' and 'Current'.

    Select 'Set Initial Read'.

    Select the Reservation Account.

    Select the incorrect Meter Charge.

    Right Click and choose 'Void Transaction'.

    Confirm and Exit.

    The new meter read can now be processed with the required 'Current' value entered for the new charges to post onto the account.
