    Derived Rate Type

    Setup a Derived Rate Type in RMS.

    Steps Required

    Have your System Administrator complete the following:

    1. Go to Charts > Rate Manager in RMS.
    2. Select the 'Rates'.
    3. Select 'Rate Types'.
    4. Navigate to the 'Derived Rate' tab.
    5. Select 'Add'
    6. Select the Derived From Rate Type (Master Rate).
    7. Enter a Description.
    8. Enter a Rate Charge Description.
    9. Select the required Derived Rate Type Options.
    10. Save.
    11. Select the required Rate Type Access and choose 'Apply'.
    12. Navigate to the 'Adjustment Amount' tab.
    13. Select the required Adjustment Type.
    14. Enter the required Adjustment Amount and select 'Apply To All'.
    15. Select the required Rate Period Option.
      1. Select the required Rate Periods.
    16. Save/Exit.

    Derived Rates determine their pricing using the Adjustment Amount set and the selected Master Rate Type (Derived From).

    Users with access to the Security Profile option 'Rate Type Property Level' will only be able to save changes to the Adjustment Amounts for Properties they have access to.

    Visual Guide

    Go to Charts > Rate Manager in RMS.

    Select 'Rates'. 

    Select 'Rate Types'.

    Navigate to the 'Derived Rate' tab.

    Select 'Add' to create a new Derived Rate Type.

    Select the Derived From Rate Type (Master Rate).

    Enter a Description.

    Enter a Rate Charge Description.

    Select the required Derived Rate Type Options.

    Select 'Save' to create the new Derived Rate Type.

    Select the required Rate Type Access and choose 'Apply'.

    Navigate to the 'Adjustment Amount' tab.

    Select the required Adjustment Type.

    Enter the required Adjustment Amount and select 'Apply To All'.

    Select the required Rate Period Option.

    Select the required Rate Periods.

    Select 'Save/Exit' to store the changes made.

    This Derived Rate Type will now calculate pricing using the Adjustment Type & Amount set based on the selected Master Rate Type (Derived From).
