Interconnecting Area

Setup an Interconnecting Area in RMS.

Steps Required

Have your System Administrator complete the following.

Go to Setup > Category/Area in RMS.
Select an Interconnecting Category and choose 'Edit'.
Navigate to the 'Area' tab.
Select 'Add'.
Enter the Area Name.
Navigate to the 'Interconnecting' tab.
Choose a Category to view.
Select a component Area.
Use the '>' button to allocate.
Allocate all component Areas.
Save/Exit.

Info

Book by Category is not available for Interconnecting Categories as the Interconnecting Areas are made up of multiple Areas from other Categories.

Due to this a specific combination of Areas must be selected at the time of booking.

Owner Accounting properties should refer to the Owner Account Setup instructions for 'Owned Interconnecting Areas'.

Visual Guide

Go to Setup > Category/Area in RMS.

Select an Interconnecting Category and choose 'Edit'.

Navigate to the 'Area' tab.

Select 'Add' to create a new Interconnecting Area.

Enter the Area Name.

Navigate to the 'Interconnecting' tab.

Select a Category to view a list of Areas.

Select an Area that makes up a component of the new Interconnecting Area and choose the '>' button to allocate.

Repeat until all component Areas are added.

The combination of component Categories/Areas used on the first Interconnecting Area determine the available combinations for additional Interconnecting Areas in this particular Interconnecting Category.

For example, if a 1 Bedroom Area and 2 Bedroom Area are added to make a 3 Bedroom Interconnecting Area, all remaining Interconnecting Areas in that Interconnecting Category must be made up of a 1 Bedroom Area and a 2 Bedroom Area.

A new Interconnecting Category must be created for each combination set required.

Select 'Save/Exit' to complete creating this Interconnecting Area.
